Free Maths Resources
Over the past few years here at Gresty Academy we have produced around a thousand educational maths videos, all completely free to access on our YouTube Channel and Facebook page. They have been watched millions of times and they cover an abundance of maths topics, conveniently sorted into playlists, podcasts and difficulty levels for your viewing and revision pleasure.
We have the following types of complimentary maths offerings:
- Standalone Maths Help Videos: These videos explain a specific maths topic, technique or question type - usually they are of duration between 5 and 30 minutes, depending on the topic. They are further categorised as to difficulty level (see below for links).
- 'A Crash Course in...' Maths Podcasts: These podcasts aim to help anybody who needs to understand and excel in a topic quickly. Hence in these podcasts there is very little general introductory irrelevant 'waffle', instead we dive straight into discussing and answering exam-style questions (see below for links).
- 'Maths Explainer' Video Playlists: These podcasts consist of our 'Introduction to...' videos; our 'How To...' videos; and our 'Revision Guide and Reviewer' videos (see below for links)
- Quick-fire Practice Maths Questions: These short videos, arranged by topic and thence by difficulty, are an ideal way to test and improve your maths skills, understanding and speed (see below for links).
- One Minute Maths Teasers: We have produced hundreds of Maths Teasers on a plethora of maths topics. They can be used for improving, retaining or brushing up maths skills, as well as for the pure fun of solving maths-based teasers (see below for links).
- Topic Specific Playlists: These playlists contain all of our videos (both long and short) on a specific maths topic, consisting of videos of varying difficulty levels (see below for links).
To indicate the difficulty and mathematical depth of each of our videos, we use the following classifications:
- FOUNDATION (F) — aimed at students taking GCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, Singapore Secondary School Mathematics, Philippine Junior High School Mathematics, and equivalent qualifications worldwide, focusing on core concepts, essential skills, and fundamental problem-solving techniques.
- STANDARD (S) — aimed at students studying Standard Level IB Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics (early modules), Singapore JC H1 Mathematics, AP Precalculus, Philippine Senior High School Mathematics (pre-calculus and calculus for STEM track), AP Calculus AB, and equivalent qualifications worldwide, as well as general non-Maths specialised College Entrance Examinations such as SAT, ACT, GMAT, UPCAT, ACET, DCAT, USTET and PUPCET.
- ADVANCED (A) — aimed at students studying Higher Level IB Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics (later modules), Further Mathematics, Singapore JC H2 and H3 Mathematics, Singapore Polytechnic Mathematics, AP Calculus BC, and equivalent qualifications, as well as heavy Maths content College Entrance Examinations such as TMUA and JEE Main.
- CHALLENGE (C) — aimed at students studying for College Entrance Examinations with very demanding Maths content, such as JEE Advanced and STEP; national and international Olympiad and Maths competitions; and early year undergraduate Maths-related degrees.
