SPECIALIST AP Maths Coaching
AP Mathematics courses combine conceptual understanding with rigorous problem solving. Many students find the transition from routine classroom exercises to examination-standard questions challenging, particularly when questions require deeper reasoning or the application of multiple concepts.
Our coaching emphasises:
- Building a strong foundation in key mathematical concepts.
- Developing problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning.
- Improving accuracy and efficiency when answering examination questions.
- Learning effective exam techniques and time management strategies.
- Identifying and addressing common misconceptions.
- Building confidence through structured practice and feedback.
Students receive clear explanations, carefully selected practice questions and detailed guidance on how to approach examination-style problems. Particular attention is given to helping students understand not only how to solve problems, but why mathematical methods work.
We provide two types of AP Maths coaching:
- One-to-One Coaching: This coaching is uniquely tailored to each student according to your requirements. A structured plan is developed to address specific challenges, reinforce and expand skills, and build confidence and consistency and, with a laser like focus on exam techniques, practical strategies, and time management, we aim to ensure that students reach their peak potential by exam time. For session pricing and payment options, check out our Pricing and Payment page. For frequently asked questions about our online one-to-one sessions via Zoom, see our Online Coaching FAQ page.
- Group Coaching: For those who don’t require one-to-one coaching, we offer a flexible alternative in our online group coaching. Each one-hour session is semi-standalone, so you can pick and pay for whichever sessions best meet your learning needs. For details of the contents of each session, see the relevant coaching sessions page, and for scheduling, availability, and registration, check the relevant coaching schedules page (please note we are still scheduling the group coaching for the 2026/7 exams - please check back presently or feel free to contact us). For session pricing and payment options, see the Pricing and Payment page, and for frequently asked questions, see our Online Coaching FAQ page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Gresty Academy provides independent coaching and academic support for AP Maths students and examination candidates. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with the College Board or any examination authority. Our coaching is designed to supplement students’ own preparation for their respective examinations. As success in examinations depends primarily on individual student effort, discipline, revision and performance, Gresty Academy cannot and does not promise or guarantee any specific exam score, grade attainment or grade improvements.
Feel free to book a free, no-obligation consultation to discuss your AP Maths coaching options with us. For more general information on our online sessions, see our Online Coaching FAQ, and for session pricing and payment options, check the Pricing and Payment page.
More Information on AP Maths
AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus AB is broadly equivalent to a first-semester university calculus course and introduces students to the fundamental concepts of differential and integral calculus.
Key topics include:
- Limits and continuity.
- Differentiation.
- Applications of derivatives.
- Integration.
- Applications of integrals.
- Differential equations.
- The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
Students are expected to interpret graphical, numerical and analytical representations of mathematical concepts and to apply calculus techniques to a wide range of real-world and theoretical problems.
AP Calculus BC
AP Calculus BC includes all content from AP Calculus AB together with additional topics that extend students' understanding of calculus.
Additional topics include:
- Parametric equations.
- Polar functions.
- Vector-valued functions.
- Advanced integration techniques.
- Infinite sequences and series.
- Taylor and Maclaurin series.
AP Calculus BC is generally regarded as the most advanced AP mathematics course and is suitable for students intending to pursue mathematics, engineering, economics, physics or other quantitatively demanding university programmes.
AP Statistics
AP Statistics introduces students to statistical thinking, data analysis and inference.
Major areas of study include:
- Exploring and describing data.
- Sampling and experimentation.
- Probability.
- Statistical inference.
- Confidence intervals.
- Hypothesis testing.
- Regression and correlation.
Students learn how to analyse data critically, interpret statistical results and evaluate conclusions drawn from empirical evidence.
AP Precalculus
AP Precalculus provides students with a strong foundation for future study in calculus and other advanced mathematical subjects.
Topics include:
- Polynomial and rational functions.
- Exponential and logarithmic functions.
- Trigonometric and periodic functions.
- Function composition and transformation.
- Mathematical modelling.
The course develops algebraic fluency, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills whilst preparing students for the demands of AP Calculus and university-level mathematics.
